Our exceptional cobnuts and walnuts

Discover the rich flavour and unique quality of our organically grown cobnuts and walnuts, nurtured in the heart of Gloucestershire. Learn about our sustainable practices and how our carefully cultivated nuts make a delightful addition to any kitchen or snack selection.

Grown with nature, in Gloucestershire

Our cobnuts and walnuts are proudly grown organically, just outside Huntley in Gloucestershire. We employ a unique cultivation method where the nut trees are 'nursed' by growing them in a rich mixture with hardwood tree species. This synergy assists their  early years growth

A harvest of unique varieties

From our woodland, we grow a diverse selection of cobnut varieties including Halls Giant, Nottingham Prolific, Cosford, Red Zellernut, Gunslebert, and Kentish Cob. Alongside these, we cultivate walnuts and even a select few almonds, all thriving in our unique Gloucestershire environment. Each variety offers a distinct flavour and texture, perfect for a range of culinary uses.

Sustainable care for flourishing trees

Our commitment to sustainability extends to the land beneath our trees. The grassland and wildflowers surrounding our nut trees are carefully managed by cutting once annually, with the cuttings removed and transformed into a nourishing compost or mulch. This is then applied around the base of the trees, helping to retain essential water and enrich the soil with vital nutrients for healthier, more bountiful harvests.

Perfect for every palate

Our premium cobnuts and walnuts are ideal for a wide array of customers. Local restaurants and bakers will find them perfect for enhancing their culinary creations, while local shops and farm shops can offer them as a gourmet addition to their product ranges. For health-conscious snackers, our organic nuts provide a nutritious and delicious treat.

Explore the distinct growing traits, harvest timing, and culinary characteristics of our Gloucestershire-grown cobnuts and walnuts.

Halls Giant cobnuts

A robust, large-fruited variety known for its vigour and hardiness. Halls Giant produces thick, protective husks and large, plump kernels with a rich, mellow flavour. Harvest starts early autumn; excellent for roasting or enjoying fresh in green husk.

Kentish Cob and Cosford

Kentish Cob yields long, sweet kernels with traditional woodland aroma, while Cosford features delicate, thin shells for effortless cracking. Both are prized by bakers and confectioners for their sweet taste and tender crunch.

Specialist cobnut varieties

Includes Red Zellernut, Nottingham Prolific, and Gunslebert. Red Zellernut provides striking purple foliage and pink-tinged skins, while Nottingham Prolific guarantees heavy, reliable yields. Ideal for artisan snack plates and display.

Gloucestershire walnuts

Cultivated alongside our mixed hardwoods, our walnuts yield well-filled shells with rich oil content and earthy depth. They dry exceptionally well for winter storage or can be harvested green for traditional pickling recipes.
